Translating Clinical Efficacy into Payer Value Pharmaceutical Market Access

Mechanism: A web-based, clinical value deck designed for the Field Account Management team to present to Payer Formulary Committees.

Strategy: As with most rare disease drugs, the challenge was justifying the premium price of Tarpeyo against tier-1, standard-of-care steroids. I structured the narrative to move beyond clinical efficacy to a hard economic argument: Risk Reduction. We utilized a Total Cost of Care (TCOC) model to demonstrate how paying for the drug now prevents the catastrophic costs of dialysis later.

Result: In addition to the drug's efficacy, the sales team now had a defensible economic argument for coverage, helping secure formulary access for this rare disease treatment.
